Scraps are taking over my sewing space
or so it seems.
I do not enjoy making scrappy quilts.
I'm more of an organized quilter
who likes to pick fabrics and use some order.
Throwing caution to the wind and using
the next piece I pull from my bin is not how I roll.
Therefore, I have this....
These bags vex me!
They taunt me and tell me I should be using them in quilts,
instead of going to my stash and adding more to these bags.
The other day I succumbed to their taunts.
After parts of three days pulling fabrics,
pressing and cutting specific pieces for a scrap quilt,
all I have is this...
This is not much for hours of work!
I am going to make the quilt from these scraps,
but, honestly, the rest of these bags just have to be removed
from my Hidey Hole.
I know if I had stayed on top of the trimming and cutting
I wouldn't be in this place,
but I'd rather sew and create.
Please don't kick me out of the quilt club.
:)
On a more creative note,
I finished two more ornaments from the Bucilla kit!
There are a LOT of sequins stitched onto these ornaments!
I really like how they finished and look forward to seeing
them on a Christmas tree this year.
I've never sewn sequins on like this before
and it took some time to get the hang of what I was supposed to do.
One more ornament to make from this kit and I'll be done with it.
I'm linking to Design Wall Monday today.
Happy Quilting!

Good job organizing the scraps that you think will be usable. Some days I look at my scrap bins and think I just need to find a garbage bag for them and other days I'm glad I have them to dig into. But you're right about them taking up too much space.
Cute ornaments. I have heard others comment on Facebook about stitching those sequins on in this different way. I spent some time a couple of years ago cutting my scraps into a manageable precut stash. I keep trying to keep up with my new scraps which has been going okay. I have pulled from the stash for small projects but so far no major projects have evolved from all that work...maybe one day I will make some amazing scrap quilts.
I too have tons of scraps and I was planning on doing some cutting on Sunday afternoon. Until I needed to remake a table runner for the shop! But I am planning on working on some scraps this winter:)
I would be happy to take your burden of scraps....
Oh yes the love hate relationship with scraps sometimes I tell myself I've thrown away bigger pieces when I sewed garments. But I still put the odd bits into bags then into the totes so they are aleast contained otherwise I fear they would do like rabbits. Sometimes I think of them as a seed pack for starting a new quilt
have fun with them
I'll take scraps any day to beads and sequins but don't send them! I have my own
The thought of fashioning a quilt from oodles of scraps, going with the flow is the best fun for me. =) I know you will imagine something wonderful....you always do, you know.
