This stay at home time has been a good thing for the
Piles of unfinished projects in my Hidey Hole.
Today's finish was started over a year ago as a
challenge for a quilt group I had belonged to at the time.
Progress stopped for some unknown reason.
When cleaning my Hidey Hole at the beginning of the stay at home order,
I pulled out the pile of blocks I had finished
and was determined to get this quilt done.
Done it is!
These blocks are from Lori Holt's book
"Vintage Farm Girl"
and were made from scraps left from a larger quilt I made.
I used straight line quilting with my walking foot for this one.
For some reason,
I have a difficult time quilting straight lines.
Mine wabble and wiggle a bit as I go along,
even when using the guide.
This little quilt has been washed and is waiting
for a baby. For once I am caught up on the baby
quilts needed!
This color scheme is one of my favorites.
Actually, anything with turquoise is my favorite. :)
I'm not a fan of sampler quilts,
but did enjoy making this one.
Another pile gone!!
Happy Quilting!
Be safe and be well.

Hello...am excited as I'm the first to make a comment. Your quilt is fantastic!! LOVE the color and it makes me think of warm days, being outside, perhaps at the beach. All of which makes me smile. We need smiles during this strange time. I made good headway with several projects, but am at a bit of a snack at the moment. Working on something brown which isn't that easy on the eyes, so my typical stitch while watching tv isn't happening. Popped in from a mutual friends blog. Always love to meet new bloggers and will add you to my blog log. Stay well.
Looks really nice. I love your simple straight lines. I have a longarm machine and long straight lines are even harder on a longarm. They are hard enough on a sit down machine.........I have done both. From where I sit your lines look just fine. Love the border treatment at the corners.
I have been busy sewing clothes and masks and need to get back to making a pieced back for a quilt so I can get it quilted.
You have a definite eye for value. All your sampler blocks are lovely. Would never have guessed you love turquoise!
What a wonderful finish! I just love the impact your different shades of teal give.
What a lucky baby that will be!! Fabulous use of scraps. In all of my favorite colors!! :o))
It's been fun watching you whip up your old UFO's. Fabulous colors in this one:) You'll have to make at least one more baby quilt to have on hand so you are ahead of the game, LOL
Love your quilt! Turquoise and grey are a wonderful combination and all the different shades really shine. Thanks for sharing!
I love the crinkle look after washing. Straight lines don’t matter at that point. The turquoise is beautiful in this quilt.
