For the past couple of years
I have had a thing for Christmas pillows.
I have had a thing for Christmas pillows.
There are so many lovely designs
and I want them all.
Until this year I had one Christmas pillow.
Why I have not made more is beyond me,
but this year I hope to change that.
One pillow made!
(I need to buy the pillow form.)
A while ago AccuQuilt had their "Peace", "Joy" and "Love" dies
on sale for half price.
I bought them, thinking they would make pretty pillows.
This went together very quickly and was fun to make.
Hopefully there will be a few more festive pillows made this year.
Clue #2 of "On Lingo Lake"
was released on Friday.
You can find the clue information here.
I have all of the Flying Geese sewn,
but only a handful have been trimmed.
I used the "Essential Triangle Tool" method
for making my geese.
These piles are waiting to be trimmed.
No matter how careful I am in sewing these,
they always need trimming.
Trimmed and waiting!
Today I'm linking to Design Wall Monday
at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts,
as well as On Lingo Lake link up
at Quiltville's Quips and Snips.
Happy Quilting!

Your pillow looks great. I, too, wonder why I don't do more of them as I always love seeing them.
Great job on your geese.
I love the pillow cover, what a great use of the dies.
I am impressed you have all the sewing done for the mystery. I'm making my blocks a little over sized so I have to trim too. Good for you for keeping up with the mystery!

Your pillow and flying geese are lovely! Oversizing and trimming the units is such a great idea. I drove myself crazy the first time I attempted flying geese. Just couldn't get them to come out right and kept ripping and restitching over and over, shouting foul words from the sewing room to the shock and horror of my children...
Beautiful pillow cant wit to see what you do with the geese
Have a great week
I actually enjoy the trimming process, but this time I opted for Marti Mitchell templates, which "pre trims" all the pieces, even taking little bits of the extra seam allowance away. On tiny geese, I like the "thinner" seam allowances that MM templates give me. Cutting takes so much longer but no after-sewing trimming evens it out.
Found your blog through the link up! I'm IslandTimeQuilting.blogspot.com (but linking through my Instagram). :)

You are getting your $ worth from the die. Good job on keeping up with the BH mystery!
What a cute pillow! I own one Christmas pillow and it's getting pretty ratty! I should be getting my pillow from the swap any day now though, can't wait to see it! I do love pillows! Good job on the mystery!
