USO's

Looking at my Design Wall today
you would think I was confused....

It's almost the middle of February and I am looking at
Fall Leaves.
Wishful thinking???
(If this were the case, I'd have a beach scene on my Design Wall!)

No....
It's a kit I have had for
Four Years
and decided it has waited long enough!

Once I start a quilt,
I usually finish it within a few months.
UFO's are not my problem...
It's the USO's that are my problem....
Un Started Objects!
I see something or think of something
and want to make it, so I purchase the items needed.
Then they sometimes sit... sometimes for years... until it's their turn.

So, yesterday I pulled this project out of the bin and started working.

The background is pieced.

Fall leaves are being cut and placed on the background.
(This photo is truer to the color of the background batiks.)

I ran out of the fusible web,
so this is as far as I was able to get last night.
Hopefully by the end of the week it will be an
Unquilted object!

Also yesterday I started pulling fabrics for a class I am taking on Wednesday.
Out came my stash of Kaffe Fassett Fabrics.
You KNOW how much I love his fabrics!

I am so excited about this class and look forward to sharing photos of what
I will be creating.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Please visit Patchwork Times for some Eye candy today!

Love the leaves! I've been calling mine Someday Projects. We both got bit by the bug at the same time apparently. Since late December I've finished two tops, all the blocks made for a third, and started yet another SP -- all done from a stack of fabric and a pattern, the latest one purchased in 2001! Girl, it feels good!

Can't wait to see what you do with Kaffe ....

Congratulations on being #1 in the DWM linkup this week! I saw the thumbnail and thought, "Autumn in February? Why not?" Then I read your post. Our UFOs and WIPs are paltry in comparison to our USOs and want-to-makes!

I've finished two quilts for a friend this week, and I am inspired to finish one of mine. I don't have many old projects.... but quite a few current projects.

I love your leaves and I am definitely intrigued by the mystery of a class on Wednesday! Those Kaffe prints are delicious.

I love your fall leaves! And those bright Kaffe prints scream spring garden to me! While sorting things in the sewing room yesterday, I made of bag of grab and do projects. Simple table mats/runners, potholders--things I had kitted up and set aside. Now they are in one place for when I want to just sit and sew something,

Very pretty fall leaves quilt. That will be a wonderful finish. And then the switch to the KF fabrics and colors! That should be fun to work with. I love color.

A Beach Scene for your wishful thinking... LOL
Oh boy do I hear you about the USO's - that's my weakness too. and UQO's. Heh heh.
This fall leaves quilt is going to be a stunner - I sure do love the look!

Wow! I have a lot of USO's too, I didn't know they had a name. Loving the leaves. Was thinking I need a template of a maple leaf to quilt. but not that one. And anxious to see what pattern you use for your Kaffe Fasset fabrics.
Thanks for visiting.
