Boy...
I have not worked with solid fabrics much at all,
but have made up for it in this week alone!
And I am enjoying the solids!
Today I have a Baby quilt on my Design Wall
and it is a bright one!
I am still tweeking this and finding blocks that
don't play nice together.
It's funny...
when my husband looked at this quilt he said,
"Wow! That will keep the baby awake!"
I don't make a quilt thinking that the baby will sleep under it.
I make a quilt thinking it will be used on the floor as the baby plays.
Hopefully the quilts will be used and loved.
Since I had all of the solids still on my cutting table,
I started cutting more squares and now have these:
After I fix the points and press these,
I'm making something fun!
Hopefully these will be finished today
and will be given as a hostess gift to a friend.
My knitting needles have been a little busy this week.
I finished the pink and black zebra socks.
My niece will love these!
Please visit "Whoop Whoop" and Patchwork Times
to see what others are creating.
Happy Friday!

You've inspired me!!! I have a another baby quilt to make and you just solved my design quandary. Love the idea of bright solids!
I think the same way about baby quilts -- for the floor and tummy time. I frequently use black/white/red as I've heard babies see the value contrast before they see color. Do you know that the pattern you are laying out is called London Roads? It's also one of my go-to patterns for baby and youth quilts. We have more in common every day!
I love your husband's comment. That sounds like something my husband would say. It is a "happy" quilt for a baby.
Cute socks too!
Wow love the bright colors! I really don't think you can go wrong in arranging the blocks, Ive seen that pattern called sticks and stones I made it in blues and whites with cowboy fabrics and called it pens and corrals. Great socks Have a great weekend
I was wrong -- London Roads is made with 4-patches and the rail fence units point to the solid square .....
What a beautiful baby quilt this will be! I do love solids, but have never made an all-solids quilt either.
Your 'about me' pic is awesome!!
Wowzers!!! Love that bright baby quilt!!!!
It will be beautiful -- and I agree that it would be perfect for a play mat or colorful addition to any baby room.
