An Applique Finish

This quilt has been one of my favorites to make.
I don't know why it has taken me so long to finish this one
since it is one of my favorites.
I'd get so far and stop for a while,
only to pick it up again months later.

Never the less...
it's finished!

And I love it.

This middle block is my favorite.
I love how the fabric worked for fussy cutting the flowers.

I hadn't appliqued anything in a while and really enjoyed making these blocks.
Now it's time to begin another applique project!

Finding the border fabric turned out to be more of a
challenge than I anticipated.
I am pleased with what I finally found.
I think it keeps the eye on the applique blocks.

This one will hang on the wall in my back hallway
for summer.
Or I might put it up there now!
Red, white and blue quilts make me smile.

Happy Quilting!

This one makes me smile too, happy for you that you have it done now and can admire on the wall.

Beautiful finished quilt and yes, your fabric choices work beautifully together for a very unified sampler. Love your fussy-cut florals and the border fabric is so perfect that I would have guessed you chose that first and then selected applique fabrics to coordinate with it!

Have you chosen your next applique project yet? Because Esther Aliu just launched a free applique BOM a couple of weeks ago and it's gorgeous... You can see it here: https://www.estheraliu.com/freequiltpatterns It's not as elaborate as her paid BOMs are, so not such a huge time commitment, and it would be so pretty in a traditional color palette like the one you just finished. :-)

Pretty applique, Ramona. I sure can relate to the process of dearly-loved quilt projects being put away for long periods and taking a very long time to finally emerge as a finish, but they're so worth it!
