This is the first time I have participated in a
Quiltville Mystery quilt and I have learned a few things
in doing this.
First, there are A LOT of pieces in a Bonnie quilt. A LOT!
Second, it makes the process much less daunting
when the process is broken down into manageable steps.
I need to remember this when I am thinking of making
a quilt with a lot of steps... break it down into small bites.
Third, I'm not a really scrappy person.
I try to control the scrappiness,
but with this quilt, that is impossible.
I Tried to just put the pieces out and sew them together
with very little fiddling, but could not do it!
En Provence is becoming a quilt!
All of the parts are assembled and ready to be put into the blocks,
Yes... I have had to use my seam ripper... a few times!
I can't totally just pick the parts and make the block.
These piles are blocks waiting to be made.
It's coming along.
Six blocks done and the rest are waiting their turn.
I am using the sashing pieces as leader/enders for the big blocks.
Two sashing strips are pieced with each block.
Hopefully it will soon be a finished top!
These blocks are a secret for now.
The preciseness of my cutting and piecing will be challenged with these blocks.

yes Bonnie's quilts have a lot of pieces, I have not made one but watching others!
It's looking great! I have the same problem working with scrappiness. I don't have a problem with each block being different, but would prefer the block be coordinated. It's hard to do that with Bonnie's mysteries, though, since you don't know where the pieces are going. I've decided to just go with it this time.
They do have lots of little bits in a BH Mystery quilt, but I think that is what makes them so spectacular. Also, no one piece gets to be the "star performer" in the finish. Your blocks look great. I'm hoping to get some work done on mine this weekend.

Wow, I love your En Provence. Mine is in more country colors, but I am not a truly scrappy person and control my colors by the same general fabric designer. My backgrounds are relatively tame, too.
But yours is really bright and I like the pop of the vivid color.
Oh, and when I sign in to your comments, there is a place to signify my email. Let's see if that works. I have been tinkering with various directions and stuff for my " profile".
I've tried to control the scrappiness too - because like you, I'm not completely comfortable with it. But I learn something new all the time with Bonnie's mysteries.
I don't have the Clue 7 pieces with yellow cut or made. I cut 4 of the squares just to try out the purple block and I'm not sure I like it. So I have to ponder it for awhile before deciding how to proceed.
I understand COMPLETELY your feelings about "scrappy-ness"!!! Although scrap quilts are my favorite, I'll admit I routinely "plan" mine as well. I've envied those quilters who have a bin or bag of scraps and just pull out and use whatever is picked. I tried it once with a log cabin- it was a horrible experiment...lol. Your En Provence is looking very nice...
Great progress! I'm using blue too, but where you have yellow, I have purple. Gives the quilt a totally different look. Hope to finish mine this week.
This is coming along beautifully. I've always been too chicken to do a mystery, let alone a Bonnie mystery with so many pieces!
I am working on the BH mystery quilt as well. I Began by making half for each of the directions. Now I have enough to begin assembly. Followed her colors, so far I like what I'm seeing. Like yours too!
