End of July??

It's the last Design Wall post for July??
REALLY??

Well, I did get some things done this week...

For those who missed it,
my Stripes and Dots top is finished.

I have decided to take this to my Long Arm quilter
and have her use her magic on this one.
I thought about adding something else to the border,
but the quilt is telling me it's done.  :)

Now that my Design Wall is open again,
I started on  a new Table Runner project.
(I'm on a Table Runner roll this summer!)

Last week my family spent a few days in
Virginia Beach and I visited the nicest little quilt shop called
Sarah was so friendly and helpful and she had a nice
selection of fabric.

While I was there I found a pattern I have wanted to make
for some time, but had not taken the time to order on line.

"Spicy Spiral Table Runner"

For a couple of years now I have made my siblings
and my mom a table runner or table topper and give them when we have
a mini reunion.

This will be the pattern for this years table runner.

So...

I gathered up the fabric....
(Each one has been Patriotic.)

Began cutting, sewing and ironing strips....

Then cut the wedges and sewed the first one together.

One done... five more to go!!

These are a lot of fun to make and it is so
neat to see the spiral come together.

I am using the 10 degree wedge ruler instead of the 9 degree
the pattern calls for,
so my runner is larger than the pattern size.

Happy Quilting!

I've been wanting to try that runner pattern since I first saw it last fall. That would make great Christmas gifts for our A-Team sitters. Thanks for inspiring me.

I love your table runner: can't imagine making 6 of them. But I like using the wedge rulers so I may have to try this one.

Oh man, that table runner is awesome! Love that your quilt told you it was done, mine do that too and sometimes I don't listen. . . big mistake :) Love that top, beautifully done!

Looking very, very good!! I've yet to try a "wedge" project, yet another thing on the very long "One Day" list.

Wow that table runner looks great. Hum. I have a wedge ruler somewhere. Or is it still on loan? Something else I haven't seen since the move into the studio! Thanks for the inspiration! How the heck do you finish it off?

Wow, your spiral is fantastic. You have given me a bit of courage to try out the design which I've had for several months.

What fantastic accomplishments! Stripes and Dots is just perfect - you are right, no more borders! Send it off! And the patriotic table runner is a real winner. What a lovely addition to the July 4th Picnic Table!!
Yay for you!

I can't wait to see your stripes and dots quilt finished. I LOVE this top. The table runner is awesome too. I might have to dig out my wedge ruler....

The quilt is perfect. I agree, no further work on the borders. The table runner is neat. I did a circular quilt using a similar technique from the pattern book Quilts without Borders and need to do another. Great look.
