This week I was hoping to have a
completed quilt top to show
But...
This Missouri Crossing
is a frustrating block for me
to make.
I don't know if it is me
or the block
but I can't seem to get the pieces where I want them to be.
(It is me!! :D)
Lots of trimming
but they are coming together.
This isn't quite half the blocks for the top.
Slow and steady wins the race.
(I'm not a slow and steady kind of person, but sometimes....)
THEN....
Look what I found!
"Santa's Toile"
For the backing!
This is going to be a Christmas Quilt
so....
How perfect!!
(AND it was $5/yard!!)
Christmas in January...
Gotta Love it!!

Happy Quilting!

Oh goodness those are gorgeous blocks and the setting is so pretty. Bonus is the adorable toile and the price!!! Certainly a Happy Christmas quilt in progress.
This is a tricky block but it is gorgeous! I LOVE this quilt. Great backing fabric too!
Just looking at the overall quilt, I would have thought the "waves" were a sashing rather than through the middle of the block. Nice to be able to see how it goes together. You're doing a great job and the backing fabric -- WOWSA!
I'm not the slow and steady kind either but you are doing a fantastic job with those blocks....and your find for the backing.......priceless!!!!!
I like your blocks and quilt top! The backing is a great plus to find. serndippity sometimes happens!
Love the blocks and the backing is perfect!
That is a beautiful quilt, and that backing was definitely calling your name. Great find.
I must agree with everyone else, PERFECT!
This is a fabulous quilt. The colors are so crisp and bright and the back is perfect! Good work.
I agree that this is a fabulous quilt. Finding that fabric for the back must have meant to be.
Your quilt top is turning out lovely! And the scrap pile is pretty too! And the back! Perfect find!
That quilt is going to be great and I think you have found the perfect backing ... wait are you going to use for binding too?or maybe the red? I'm planning some Super Bowl Sunday fabric shopping --- let's hear it for fabric sales.
