It's a finish!!!

The T-Shirt quilt for my youngest daughter

is Finished!!

She has been waiting for a 

LONG TIME

for this to be made.  

I put the last stitches in the

binding last night.

Another check off of 

my list!

And this is only about half of her

Swimming T-shirts!!

Big Wave pattern...

Love it!

My block is finished....

.... and ready to be passed to the 

next person on Saturday.

It's always fun to see what

So last night I was busy doing this!

The binding

are ready to be sewn onto this quilt!

My History of Quilting Club....

... is beginning a new session

using this book...

I was able to visit Lowell, Massachusetts a few years ago

and was able to tour some of the old mills that

are now part of a National Park.

I am finding this book very interesting as well.

This time we will be participating in a 

Round Robin!

My first!!

I am working on my 12" block and will

hand it off at the meeting on 

Saturday. 

The block I will be given will

need a border by next month

and then we will trade again.

Should be fun!!

Design Wall Monday.....

This past week did not have much

Quilting Time

AT all!!

I did get this top pieced together

and am trying to decide

if I want to make it

larger.

This is the pattern size (60"x60")

BUT

.... do I want to add two more rounds??

There is not a border

on the pattern...

.... maybe that's what I want?

I like the "borderless" look, but....

I'll ponder it for a bit.

It's Coming along....

.... and is almost a quilt top!

This one has taken a while to make,

but I am pleased with the outcome.

As I was laying it out, I realized I had

ONE MORE block to make!

I'm trying to decide if I am going to make it

BIGGER.

We shall see.

.... the perfect display stand

for my

"Flower Garden" mini.

It looks really nice on my

new quilt cabinet.

Design "Floor" Monday...

.... I need a larger design wall!

This quilt has been on my 

"to-do" list since 2007!!

It was published in the 

Fons and Porter magazine in 

July 2007 

and I have had the red fabric collected for

several years.

FINALLY it is becoming a quilt!

I have some snipping of ears to do!

Waiting for their other half!

I thought I had cut all of the pieces

necessary, but only cut half the number

for the pieced triangles.

Hopefully it will be a completed quilt soon!
I don't know why I have waited so long!!

Family's stockings...

Since I mentioned that I made

stockings for my family

in the last post, I'll show 

them to you today.

I know...

Christmas is Five months away.

But... it will be here before we know it!

This Patchwork Santa is my stocking.

I love the quilted coat he is wearing

and all of the things in his bag

can come out!

This is my older daughters stocking.

She plays the piano and loves music.

My husband is a golfer, so

Golfing Santa is his.

My younger daughter would live

on the beach.  Therefore...

One big change I made with these stockings

is to not use the felt backing that came with the kit.

I purchased fabric and made a complete

stocking, quilted and lined, and then

sewed the front stocking piece to the

quilted stocking.  I used the felt back piece as a pattern

for the stocking. They are much

sturdier this way.

Again, they are so much fun to make!

These stockings are

So.Much.Fun!!

I made one for each of my family

 last year, but

this one is for a 

dear friend.

They are Bucilla kits and the 

details and directions are

so good!

This one will be finished soon!

Santa will be holding a guitar when 

the stocking is finished.

How cute is that??

 LOVE the fringe!

And the feet with sandals.

Just adorable.

This is a good travel project.

I have a plastic bead container 

for all of the sequins and beads and

everything fits into a zipper bag.

One thing I do differently from the directions

is instead of stuffing the various pieces

with fiberfill, I use batting scraps.

It gives the piece some definition

and padding, but is much easier

to work with.

This was my design wall project posted on Monday

and I was able to complete it.

I really do like how this turned out,

with the wool leaves giving it an extra

punch. 

Again, this pattern is from 

Kim Diehl's book

"Simple Charms."

I don't particularly like the button hole stitch, so 

I just tacked the leaves to the quilt, using

an applique stitch without the needle turn.

 (I did use a fusible product as well.)

The Watermelon quilt....

.... is finished!

I named it 

"Summer Sweetness."
Can't you just taste it??

Watermelon is one of my

FAVORITE summer foods.

This quilt is one of my favorites, too.

Hi, my name is.....

..... Ramona

and I am a quilter and

I do not add

LABELS 

to my quilts as I should!

I know...

They help tell the story,

They document the quilt, 

They give care instructions, etc.,

but I do not enjoy making them.

I will get better about this...

I bought a CD that has a lot of labels on it...

All I need to do is print, trace and color.

Maybe this will inspire me to 

LABEL more!!

as I had imagined they would be,

thankfully!!

I ordered a quilt stand to display this one.

 The quilt is not uneven... the angle of the

picture makes it look crooked!
