I have to say...
This baby quilt did not end up anywhere near
where I had envisioned it and
I LOVE IT!!
I LOVE IT!!
This was started by using a pattern in a recent
American Patchwork and Quilting magazine
and I immediately changed the pattern a bit.
In the magazine the blocks were set like this,
so a plus sign was in the middle of each block.
I just love these bold solid colors paired with the black and white.
I was playing around with taking photos of the quilt top
after the blocks were sewn together and turned my camera on an angle.
I loved the blocks set on point!
That's the way it was finished.
I quilted it with primary colored variegated thread and just followed
the straight lines of the quilt.
This wee one hasn't arrived yet,
but the quilt is done and waiting.
I'm linking to Design Wall Monday.
Lovely! I've heard high contrast colors are stimulating for an infant. Quite the change from the days we were new parents and everything was soft and pastel.
Oh I love this as well. I am hoping this was easy to make. I am not a quilter but I want to be. I just need to start.
What a lovely setting you chose for this beauty!! Nice work hugs, Julierose
Ramona, I adore this wildly colorful, happy quilt!!! It is such a fun design. The black and white really make all the colors shine. You can’t help but feel and happy and giddy while looking at this fun quilt!
That is a neat one with the brights with black/white. It's a good thing to be done before the little one meets the world.
What a colorful, bright, fun baby quilt!!! The new parents will love it! Great timing on your part, too!
Fun colors I like you changes to the pattern. Sometimes I see the pin wheels and sometimes a cyclone with the darkest color blocks beautifully done!
What a fun quilt. I personally prefer bright quilts for little ones so this one is high on my like list. You did a great job and having it done before baby comes -- amazing!
What a beautiful quilt! I love it! So pretty and cheerful.
Ahh, to have a baby quilt finished before the baby comes! Good job! I too, have heard that bright colors are what babies like to look at.
