A Finish!!!

This quilt has been a long time in the making.
The top has been finished for several years
and just hung in my hidey hole, waiting to be quilted.
Before we moved, I sent a number of quilts off to be quilted
and put this one in the pile.

It is now done and ready to be donated.

Several years ago I decided to cut all of my
reproduction fabrics into  strips and squares and
use them up or move them out.
I'm not a fan of reproduction fabrics,
but have family members who love these quilts.
This one is the second quilt I made with HST's.

I love the simplicity of HST quilts.
The design allows the fabrics to sing.

It's so wonderful to have a finish!
Onto the next quilt that needs binding.

Happy Quilting!

Yay for a finish! Many times simple is best. I'm no longer in love with repros, either, but hate to give them up or cut them up. It's what got me into quilting in the first place -- that and a pending grandchild back in 2001 (he just finished is second year of college).

It looks amazing! That will be one lucky new quilt owner that receives this beauty. I love sewing with half square triangles too.

And doesn't it feel so good to have a finish amidst all the chaos of moving etc. Repros are still really pretty!

Some lucky person is going to absolutely love this quilt! I hope you hand is getting better. I'm dealing with something similar but on my left (crochet and mulch raking) hand.

I have to say that it made up into a lovely quilt. I agree that HSTs and simple squares make beautiful quilts. This one feels very warm and comforting.

So beautiful!! Congrats to you on your finished project. Where do you donate your quilts? And when you said send them to be quilted...is there a business that does that after you make the tops?
