With Covid things are taking longer to arrive when shipped.
It's a good thing I have lots of things to work with in my hidey hole!
The white with yellow polka dot fabric arrived
and I cut the sashing strips for the Kaffe Scrappy blocks.
This is exactly what I had in mind for these blocks.
I used 2" squares for the corner stones and have the blocks all sewn together.
The sashing strips really help calm the chaos.
The pattern did not have sashing,
but these blocks were way too busy for me without them.
So many fun fabrics!
Now I need to find some fabric for the border.
I'm thinking larger polka dots.
You know me and Kaffe with polka dots!!
Happy Quilting!

It's sometimes amazing how much a sashing strip in between the blocks can change the whole look so much. Any idea how many different prints you have in this flimsy?
You did a fabulous job with the KF fabrics--that sashing really makes the blocks zing out there! I personally have trouble using KF fabrics in big pieces--I cut them up into smaller pieces as you did here--and sprinkle them around...but then, i am a Scrap Gal hahaha
Hugs on a nive job Julierose
That sashing is perfect with the Kaffe fabrics. It turned out beautifully. There are so many great Kaffe fabrics that would make a good border choice.
Ooh, fun! I can think of several KF fabrics that would look great as borders on your quilt! Do you have one in particular in your stash? If not, I hope you can visit a LQS to find one so you're not stuck waiting for fabric to arrive in the mail again.
Beautiful, Colorful and Joyful. Simple and yet Extraordinary!!! When I read Kaffe, I began thinking of Rebecca of Cheeky Cognoscenti. Looks like she found you already :-) Have a great week and stay safe, Ramona.
