Design Wall Monday...

My design wall has
little blocks on it this week.
I started this project a while ago
and need to complete it!

The flowers and leaves are wool.
LOVE working with wool!
Each block will be 3x4" when
completed.

I didn't realize I have one more flower to applique!

Notice the musical notes on the background fabric?
These flowers just dance.

I am a bit intimidated by the tiny half square triangles since
I have not made any this small before.
 The pattern suggests using Thangles.
I will give it a shot.
:)

Isn't this sweet?

Enjoy!

As a Quilter....

.... I LOVE to decorate
with QUILTS!

I have them everywhere.
...On just about every table top
...Hanging on the walls
...On all of the beds
...I use them as tablecloths
Everywhere!

I have been looking for a piece to store my quilts
and found this the other day at
a local consignment/refurbish shop.
Isn't it great!
AND I love the chicken wire in place of the glass in the front.

Some of my minis in a basket.

Happy Quilting!

Looking back....

When my mother-in-law died several years ago,
we found A LOT of handkerchiefs.
Some were hers and some were
her Mother-in-laws.

I made wall hangings using these
handkerchiefs for my two daughters,
my sister-in-law, my niece and myself.

Her mother-in-law's name was
ROSE.
There were a number of handkerchiefs with
"R" embroidered on them.
Each of us has at least one on our wall hanging.

The handkerchiefs were just beautiful.
Tissues just don't compare.

Christmas in July....

.... for once...
I am getting a few things done
IN ADVANCE!

I made a few ornaments
and really enjoyed the process.

They are from a kit.

I am too young to remember the 60's,
But these are cute.

PEACE!

Ten things this summer....

.... I enjoy reading other blogs and getting ideas.
A Quilting Life blog asked
what are ten things we would like to
complete this summer?

WELL....
Here is my list.

1. Machine quilt two baby quilts tops that are
waiting to become Baby Quilts.

2. Complete this sweet little mini quilt.  I bought the pattern last
year in Oregon and started it during the winter.

3. Finish this Watermelon quilt. I also bought this
pattern in Oregon.

4. Piece the "Red Barn" quilt.  The pieces are
ALL CUT!  Just need to sew.

5. Finish this Snowball quilt.  So close!

6. Baste this quilt top that my
GREAT GRANDMOTHER pieced.
I am going to hand quilt it.

7. Make a Christmas Tree quilt for
a wedding gift.  I made this one last year.
Not sure what pattern I will use this year.

8. Complete these pillows.

9. Begin this Stocking for a friend.
I made several of these stockings from kits last year and
LOVED making them.  They are kind of vintage-y.  :)

10. Continue with "Scrap Therapy"...
Two bags of scraps left!

I am a list maker, so this should help me to
make better use of my quilting time.

We shall see!

A sweet little quilt....

... for a friend who
moved away.  :(

This is not my usual color palate,
but I do like the
calm, peaceful feel.

I will miss my friend.
In the mail this little quilt will go.

I needed....

..... a portable project.
Something easy to carry and
work on in the car or
while waiting for whatever.

This shawl is called
and is so easy to make!
Plus it's practically mindless.
That's what I need at times!
Not super wild about my choice of yarn,
but...
it's the first one.

Delivery made...

... of three baby quilts!
(One I knitted during the cold winter months.)

Maybe I can make four next year.
(And not wait until the last minute!!)
:)

While waiting for a repair man....

... pin baste mini quilts!
I have several mini tops
waiting to become mini quilts.
While waiting in that
3:00-5:00 window,
this was easy to
start and stop!

Ready for quilting now!

One down....

....One to go
Baby quilts, that is.

I finished one for donation
and
hope to finish sewing the binding
on the second one tonight.

Down to the wire!
They need to be delivered by next week.
I've only had a year to make them!
Why do I wait??
