Finished Christmas Tree Skirt

It's been quiet on the blog and in my Hidey Hole
this past week.
I was in NYC watching the A10 basketball tournament.
Unfortunately, my team lost early in the tournament,
but we are still playing in the NCAA tournament starting on Friday.
GO RAMS!!

Before I left for NYC,
I was able to quilt and bind the latest Christmas Tree skirt
I'm making for a wedding gift for a friend of my younger daughter.

The 15 degree wedge ruler was used to make this tree skirt,
using strip sets of 3 1/2" wide strips of fabrics.

Quilting this was fun.
I used some of my free motion rulers and just played with each ring.
The bottom ring was quilted with a feather design.

I love this backing fabric.
It could be reversible if they choose to use it this way.

My dilemma is, if  it can be reverisble,
what do I do about a label?

The first photos show the true colors of the fabrics.
Christmas fabrics are some of my favorites to use.
All of these came from my stash!
I'm glad I was able to finish this in time to send back with
my daughter when she comes for a visit soon.
No shipping needed!

Happy Quilting!

Isn't it always a plus when we can use from our stash for a whole project! Now that you are done with the tourneys you will be cranking out all kinds of projects, right?

Lucky you for being in NYC!! I am a wee bit jealous. The Christmas tree skirt is lovely with all those glorious patterns dancing in red and green and white. How fabulous that they all fell out of your fabric stash. The backing fabric is great. I love the idea that it can be used either side.

Looks great bummer that your team is out. Our men’s team got beat early but our women are still on n the game.
Do a small label near the opening for the trunk small and inconspicuous or put a small label on one or the planer fabrics. Have a where’s Waldo tag . Just a thought

The Christmas Tree skirt turned out wonderfully! It sounds like fun going to NY. I have so many things in assorted stages. I hope to do a post soon.
