Christmas Ornaments

Here it is...
December 12th and I'm just getting
my ornaments made.

This year I am making ornaments designed by
and am having so much fun making them!
I love the "Twelve Days of Christmas"
and when I saw Larissa's patterns,
I knew I had to make her ornaments.

I ordered wool felt from the Etsy site
Larissa recommends,
bought the embroidery floss I needed
and began to create.

Larissa suggests that we use
to print the embroidery designs and
stitch over on the felt.

Let me tell you what....
this stuff works like a charm!
It gunks the needle up a bit as I stitch,
but wipes off easily.
Once the stitching is done,
the pieces are soaked in cold water for a short time,
sprayed with the kitchen sink sprayer if there are pieces
stuck in the stitching and that is it!

Print the pattern pieces onto the stabilizer,
(don't do what I did and print them on the paper side!)
roughly cut out the pieces,
peel the backing off,
stick the piece to the felt,
stitch over the lines,
soak and rinse in cold water
and let dry.

The first of the ornaments are finished!
(And look.... my tree is up and decorated....
But I won't tell you about having to string lights on the
ENTIRE pre lit tree!!)

"On the First Day of Christmas
My true Love gave to me...
A Partridge in a Pear Tree."

Larissa has the patterns available for the first six ornaments.
I can't wait to see the rest of them!

Happy Quilting!
Happy Stitching!
Merry Christmas!

Those are adorable! I used to make lots of my ornaments too! Then I started buying them at craft sales(still handmade!).

Those are beautiful! I used to make ornaments and haven't done so for quite awhile. Funny thing, our school play this year is 12 Days of Christmas so the song repeats itself in my head many times a day!

Those are wonderful. I love the idea of the soluble for stitching the design.

These are such pretty ornaments Ramona! They have such a traditional folk art look, which I love.
The wool felt doesn't shrink with the cold water bath then? That is a great tip about the Solvy.
