This, That and Tula

For the past week or so time spent in my Hidey Hole
has been hit and miss.
I had a couple of small things to make,
so was able to get those done.

The first of these were a couple of clothing items
for my littles.

My daughter asked me to make little Miss O
a strawberry dress.
Twist my arm!!

Once the dress was made,
my son in law asked if I could make Mister M
a matching shirt.
I didn't have a pattern for a boys shirt
and OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!!
It has been a long while since I have bought a pattern
and the cost is ridiculous!!
I could have bought 2 shirts for the price of the pattern.

I did find a reasonably priced pattern and got his shirt made.

Next on the agenda was to make the April blocks
for my Gridster Bee Mate.
She asked for wonky stars with a black background.

I'm telling you... wonky is not my thing,
but I forged ahead and am happy with the results.
They will go in the mail soon.

Next up was to get the Tula HST quilt finished.

This is the first time I've used Tula's fabrics
and may be my last.

While I'm pleased with the results of the quilt,
I had to work hard to get it to come together.

This will be donated and will brighten someone's day.

Happy Quilting!

The children's clothing is sooo cute. They will look darling wearing them. I know what you mean about the cost of patterns. It is absolutely crazy. Fortunately, they have sales at Joanns on them quite often, but I find that they seldom have the ones I want in stock. I generally use the ones I have saved over the years. Your wonky stars turned out really well. I am so not wonky either. The finished Tula quilt will be treasured by someone. It is such a happy quilt with all the colors.

Such adorable kiddie clothes! So true about pattern prices...definitely have to hit a sale. HST quilts...awesome finish but oh so tedious to piece. Love the wonky stars.

Those are adorable clothes you made! I usually get my patterns on JoAnn when on sale. I am needing one for pants as my daughter asked me to make a pair for granddaughter, so watching for a sale as our new JoAnns opened, they moved. I don't care for tula fabrics, I won some several years ago, started a quilt and just couldn't stand it. But it is now a flimsy and it will be donated.
