I have been a fan of M.C. Eshcer for years,
finding his drawings and paintings fascinating.
When I saw this pattern for a quilt that is
I had to make it.
Here is the finished quilt!
The top had been finished for a while,
but I could not decide how to quilt it
or if I should send it to my LAQ to be finished.
Finally, I decided to just quilt in the ditch for this one.
The design speaks for itself.
This quilt was not as challenging to make as I initially thought
it would be, but it was not mindless sewing,
by any means.
The fabrics had to be kept in a very specific order
so the design would come through.
Using the Kaffe fabrics gives it so much movement.
I'm not sure where this one will end up,
but it's staying with me, at least for a while.
I used this fun Kaffe stripe for the backing
and a blue and green dot for the binding.
There will be another one of these in my future,
Wow, that is a wonderful quilt!!
Wow is right! It is a beautiful quilt!
Great job! And a great choice for your fabrics. Having done similar things, I appreciate how much attention to value placement this takes.
Wow!! I've been admiring this pattern for some time now and your fabric choices make it spectacular! I've always been fascinated with Escher's drawings too.
What is the name of the pattern? I would love to make one - love yours!
That is gorgeous. I agree that the quilt in the ditch was the perfect pattern for this one. Just stunning!
The quilt is really lovely...I'm glad you decided to quilt it yourself...and you know, Ramona deserves a quilt for herself once in awhile! lol....have a great day...it's finally cooled off here. Who would think a gray, overcast day would be so welcomed!
I pinned this a while back and even looked up a source for the pattern, but never bought it. Your's is awesome, so maybe it's time to track the pattern down again.
I am such a slacker compared to you! I love this quilt! Your potholders in your last post are wonderful too!
Love your finished quilt. I remember how this allllll started. I hope you are the one keeping it!
