Old McDonald is a Finish

It's funny how sometimes I look at fabrics I've purchased and think
What Was I Thinking??

This is how I felt with this fat quarter bundle of fabrics
I've had in my cabinet for quite some time.
Why did I buy this and what am I going to do with it?

On my list for 2018 was to get this stack of fat quarters sewn into something.

Let me just say....

I love this quilt!

The large triangles allow for the cute fabrics to shine
and the colors to pop.

I quilted it with a swirl design,
which took no time at all.

I had this striped fabric in my stash
and had to add a strip of left over triangles to the width of the fabric
to make it wide enough for the backing.
The stripe worked well for the binding, too.

This fun quilt will be for my niece
who is due any day now.
I've had a quilt made for her for a while,
but that one will stay in my pile
for another little one.

The good news is I had enough left over triangles to make
another slightly smaller quilt!
Hopefully the smaller version will be finished soon.

Old McDonald had a cute farm!

Linking to Design Wall Monday today.
Enjoy!

Happy Quilting!

What's not to love about this quilt-it's fun, bright, polka dots, stripes. I think you just gave me an idea for the leftover Henry Glass fabrics from when I did the Desire to Inspire challenge. Now to find the time-got a solution for that, haha.

What fun and I am glad you have a home for it! It would fit right in here on our farm!

This is darling! What size are those equilateral triangles?

Ooh, I love this quilt too, Ramona! Congrats on an adorable finish, and you are just a show off for finishing a baby quilt BEFORE the baby is born! I feel accomplished when I get a baby quilt finished before the baby heads off to college. ;-)

Seriously, though -- you are giving me ideas for some weird novelty prints that are languishing in my stash from when my teenaged boys were in preschool. John Deere tractors, Bob the Builder, obnoxiously colored dinosaur and frog fabrics... Maybe I should chop them up into equilateral triangles with my Accuquilt GO! cutter and make a few baby quilts for pantograph practice on my longarm machine?

That turned out so cute and I love how you did the backing on it.
