So far 2026 has started off great with LOTS of sewing!
The weather has been cold and windy,
which makes for perfect conditions to stay inside and sew.
My first finish was made with some fabrics
my dear friend and neighbor brought me back from Alaska last year.
I found the pattern, Wind Drifter, by Robin Pickens
and love the results.
This is a wall hanging size
and came together very quickly.
I decided to quilt this myself and am pretty pleased
with the results.
I do need to practice my swirls more.
They are a little funky.
:)
This was hung right up once it was finished.
From some of the scraps, I made my friend two
Hemingway Bags.
This is such a fun pattern to make.
I put the binding on the outside of the bag
instead of on the inside. It adds more interest
and is easier to make this way.
Happy Quilting!

So pretty, Ramona.....I could use your prayers again. Our 10 room farmhouse burned to the ground on Friday. Dean and I got out with the clothes on our backs...staying with oldest daughter. I knew your blogpost would cheer me up...can't seem to stop crying. Hope all is well with you and your weather is much better than ours in WV. Blessings and hugs....
Love your newest finishes, both quilt and bags. I have yet to make those bags but I have the pattern. There are some Alaska fabrics in the quilt that kinda look like the Northern Lights dancing.
I have the Hemingway pattern but haven't made it up yet. Yours have inspired me to get it out and get to work! I love the Robin Pickens "Wind Drifter" wall hanging, your LOVELY quilting puts it over the top! Bravo!
I love everything! What a great way to kick start the year! I need to put in some time on the long arm to get the rust out of my joints! Your quilting looks great - love your feathers!
