My family is very prolific.
My daughter and a niece had babies in December.
Two nieces (Sisters!) are due on March 3rd,
and a fifth niece is due in June.
This will make 18 great grandchildren for my mom
from 13 grandchildren.
Needless to say,
lots of baby quilts have been needed.
My latest finish is the baby quilt for one of the babies due March 3rd.
He's a boy. :)
This quilt was made with one of Elizabeth Hartman's' patterns
and was fun to make.
I had not used one of her patterns before and can see more in my future.
I was going to quilt it with a grid design,
but Ann at Straythreads suggested using leaves.
I loved this idea and that's how it was quilted.
These guys have their food and shelter right there
and are ready for this little guy to be born soon.
Onto the next baby quilt!
I'm linking to Design Wall Monday today.
Happy Quilting!
This is just darling! The quilting is perfect. Enjoy all those babies!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt and it is just perfect for a little boy. Both of my grandsons love dinosaurs too.
ReplyDeleteHow fun a big family must be. I don't have any nieces or nephews and only two grandsons who recently came into our family.
I love that dinosaur quilt. It is so much work but oh so worth it. I did realize Elizabeth had a dino quilt. Hum, I wonder if I should do one for my grandson.....
ReplyDeletethat is a cute quilt - it was when my large family started to produce so much I gave up keeping up with baby quilts and started to give gifts of other things. It was too much to keep up with - good luck on trying to
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!! It will be a well loved quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on the dinosaurs. They are in their natural habitat instead of the zoo.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so cute! I love the leaf quilting design.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteMY late MIL had 18 grandchildren. There are now 43 great-grands, and 1 great-great-grand. But I have NOT made quilts for all of those babies, or even as they graduate HS. Some who are closer have received quilts. Now 2 of them are due to graduate from college this spring and there will be weddings most likely soon after for both young men. Our families grow up too fast.
That turned out sooo cute and the quilting is absolutely perfect. These little ones will have so much fun growing up together. They are lucky babies to be born into such a loving family.
ReplyDeleteI love how that turned out! The leaf quilting is really perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! That is a lot of babies to love in your family. How wonderful to get to make baby quilts frequently!
ReplyDeleteThat was a fast finish and the leaves are perfect!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt---and yes, leaves are a very appropriate quilting motif. After all, everyone knows the best and nicest dinos eat green food/tree stars. (That comes from a personal experience as we have ALL the Land Before Time videos my girls adored when growing up!) Congratulations on all the new lives coming into your family. I guess it's true, when it rains it pours. Your daughter has started something. lol....nevertheless, children truly are a gift from the Lord. I only wish our "quiver" had been more full. Three children and 4 grandchildren, while wonderful, just isn't enough. I wish I had more! Blessings from a rainy WV. Big hug, Ramona.
ReplyDeleteLove the finish!!
ReplyDeleteYour dinosaur quilt is a fabulous finish, Ramona. The leaves quilting design goes perfectly with herbivore dinosaurs. =) My goodness, just as well you whip up quilts faster than anyone I know. Your family does indeed love babies.
