In the past I have mentioned that I make
Christmas Tree Skirts
as wedding gifts for special people.
We have wedding coming up in June
and a tree skirt is needed.
Out came the Christmas fabrics.
I had a jelly roll of "Holiday Flourish"
and in my quest to use up my jelly rolls,
Log Cabin blocks were made.
Kona "Snow" was used along with Holiday Flourish.
I like the above layout better than the layout below,
but I didn't want to cut the Christmas fabric from the corners
and I didn't want the white half of the blocks around the
outer edge of the tree skirt.
The blocks were reversed
and the corners were cut on the diagonal.
Maybe.... just maybe I can quilt some
feathers in the white spaces.
I better get practicing!
Happy Friday!
Lovely colors. I really like the idea of a tree skirt for a wedding gift.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty fabrics! I like your idea, silly me is making a queen size quilt for a wedding in July.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! you are the spirit of Christmas all year long!!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend
Oh, the versatility of the log cabin! My mother used to buy a nice "living room" trash can as a shower gift. I like your concept better .... though everyone needs a trash can...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful wedding gift that will be treasured for many years! I have a wedding next week, but I'll be lucky to finish a new dress for me by then. Oh well, the bride and her sisters all received lap quilts last Christmas...
