Knitting Needles Friday

During this past week, I had some
large chunks of time to
work on some knitting.

First, I was on a bus trip going to a
Basketball game ( my team won!!)
and almost finished

This pattern has such nice texture and is a fun
sock to make.
I am using Madelinetosh Sock Yarn in "Spectrum."

The second chunk of knitting time I had this past week
was not nearly as exciting as a
basketball game,
but I did get a fair amount of work done on
this sock:

I needed a mindless project, so this is a
Basic Sock with Opal yarn.
I do love the striping with this yarn.

I am also making this with the
Afterthought Heel...totally mindless.
(The Heel will be added where the
blue thread is seen...)

THEN...

I was in Michael's the other day and
found this book:

I have a friend who
LOVES
Sock Monkeys.

This book came home with me
along with some yarn
and this is what I have so far.

This is knitting up quickly
because of the larger needles and yarn.
So far, so good!

Visit Patchwork Times to see what
others are working on this week.

Happy Friday!

  4. Love your socks. I have the first pattern on my list to hopefully make this year and someday I will order some Opal yarn and try it out. I love self-patterning yarn for the same reason--mindless and yet beautiful. I'm anxious to see your finished monkeys. What weight is the yarn for them?
