Happy Easter!
We were able to spend Easter day with our
whole family yesterday!
We drove up to our daughter and SIL's house
and got to hold and snuggle the grands
while enjoying the day.
It was the first time my husband and Doodlebug
met the Little Man and they were thrilled.
Here are the proud parents, sister and fur brother with the
Little Man.
And Aunt Doodlebug was especially excited to be holding
her nephew.
They are all doing well and getting used to being a family of 4
plus the furry one.

After making the Lucky Stars quilt,
I had a lot of rectangle pieces left over.
I was on Pintrest one night and saw this quilt
from Must Love Quilts
and knew it would work well with the leftover pieces.
I had to get some more neutral Kaffe prints
and went to work once they arrived.
I used the back of most of the Kaffe prints
to soften them even more.
This went together very quickly and used up
a fair number of the bricks.
I'm not sure if this one will be donated or
given as a baby quilt.
There may be enough parts to make another one,
but we shall see where I am led.
I am linking to Design Wall Monday today.
Happy Quilting!
The brick wall quilt is fabulous!! What a fun use of Kaffe prints! Wonderful family photos, especially the one with Aunt Doodlebug. I love her smile - it's just full of love and delight.
ReplyDeleteAre you really enjoying your new sewing studio? What a great looking family and precious Auntie photos! That was a fun way to use up more bricks even if you had to purchase more to do it,hahaha, I did that recently too:0
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Grandma!!! Beautiful smiles.
ReplyDeleteKaffe Neutrals are spectacular and as usual no one knows them as well as you do!
What a fun quilt this brick wall is! You’ve given it life with all the bright bricks. I didn’t even know the Kaffe fabrics came any other way than in bold bright prints. Using the wrong sides of fabrics to get a lighter version is a great option when they work that way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family beautiful smiles and another beautiful quilt
ReplyDeleteLovely smiles and wonderful family experience! I loved sharing in the experience via your blog--thank you. I'm also quite interested in your brick wall quilt. That is an effective way to use up scraps and make a great quilt at the same time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice pattern for putting together lots of bold prints. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pretty bright bricks. How nice you were able to use up lots of your left overs and perhaps have enough to make another quilt. Sounds like you had some good family time over Easter.
ReplyDeleteThe Kaffe prints look great together the mortar really helps keep the prints separated.
ReplyDeleteSound like you had a great time with family.

Just a quick question, do you have trouble sewing all the small white strips? Mine never look straight. Love your quilt and all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteLove the Brick Wall quilt....it really looks like a brick wall. I don't know if I'd have the patience and skill to tackle all those little white strips though! Your family is beautiful; so happy and wholesome. Aunt Doodlebugs sure looked pleased holding the little man. You are truly blessed...as they are to have you! Blessings and hugs from WV!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is it to see these incredible grandchildren! And I saw the little girl wearing the cute dress you made her ( with the addition of a long sleeves: darn spring weather). I bet you were in heaven to get all your children and grandchildren together. Love your brick wall with the little "masonry" in between the blocks. It really gives it a while different feel and accentuates your beautiful fabrics. Impressive.
