I have wanted to make a Jelly Roll Rug for a very long time.
The batting round had been purchased long ago on sale
and the Kaffe Jelly Roll was waiting in my cabinet.
They came out next to play!
I figured this would take me a couple of weeks to make,
but it went together very quickly.
Stitching the strips together end to end
and then sewing the whole thing together with
the batting inside went quickly.
It was fun seeing this big ball ready to
be made into a rug.
The other night I put an audio book on and just sewed away.
There are a couple of things I would do differently if I made
another rug, but I'm pleased with the results.
For now it's on the floor in my hidey hole, in front
of the cutting table.
I just love Kaffe fabrics!!
I'm linking to Design Wall Monday.
Happy Quilting!
Awesome! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThose are happy abstract fabrics which made into a very fun rug! It’s very satisfying to make something that you’ve wanted to make for a long time. What a joy it must be to stand on that rug now. It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful happy colors
ReplyDeleteIt’s gorgeous!! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this. Before I begin mine, what would you do differently? Your fabrics are just yummy!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm glad to hear it went together easily. I, too, have had all the parts ready and waiting for a few years. Maybe this year I'll actually make the attempt. Thanks for the encouraging post!
ReplyDeleteYour rug is just fabulous! Swirls and swirls of Kaffe fabrics make for an explosion of colour and pattern on your floor.
ReplyDeleteI have had the pattern for some time, and plenty of scraps on hand, but have never gotten started as yet. Your version looks great. Enjoy!
