These last few weeks have not gone according to plan,
but I was able to sneak in some stitching here and there.
One thing I really wanted to finish was this
Advent calendar I was asked to make
for a good friend of my daughter.
It is finished!
My goal was to get it done by the end of this week
and I finished it last night.
This was made by using part of a pattern
and part original design.
Most of the felt designs came from the pattern,
but the construction was my own idea.
I bought a Cricut machine and that helped immensely with
the lettering and numbers.
The felt I used is all wool felt.
The little designs are so cute,
but were so tedious to cut out.
If I make another one,
I will want to come up with a different
way to cut these out.
They were too small for the Cricut.
There are things I would do differently in the
construction, too, that would make things
go more quickly and look a little better.
This will be delivered soon..
Just in time for the start of the Advent season.
In the ornament corner, these little cuties are being made.
Yep... .another Bucilla kit.
There are six of these little mice.
They are much easier to make than I anticipated.
I am linking to Design Wall Monday today.
Happy Creating!
Wow, such a cute Advent calendar!!! Where's the pattern from? And I wonder what you would do different. It just looks so good!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice finish the advent calendar is! The designs are so cute. So tedious but so cute. They will love using it every year. Every year that I see one, I think I want to make one but it just never seems to get in line. The mouse is adorable. It’s been gobs of years since I’ve stitched a Bucilla kit. But I still have all the ornaments I did stitch back then. And it’s a joy to see them every year.
ReplyDeleteWOW! It would have to be a VEY good friend for me to do such intricate work. But you worked your usual magic. And that cute mouse ...
ReplyDeleteI'm with Libby ^^^! Not sure I'd want to give something so dear away! BTW, you might want to remove the apostrophe in "Zimmermans". Just a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute advent calendar! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteDespite all that has happened of late you have finished a gorgeous Advent Calendar. The Zimmermans will be one happy family when they see it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great holiday keepsake! Did you use the Cricut for the lettering?
ReplyDeleteSo cute and the mouse is the cutest
ReplyDeleteI can see where cutting all the little parts would be hard and tedious, but it is so cute! I am sure your daughters friend will adore it! And the mouse is so too sweet:)
ReplyDeleteThis turned out AMAZING! Your personalization at the top makes it so special.
ReplyDeleteDespite the tediousness, it turned out Fantastic. I am sure they will just love it.
The color variation for the squares is perfect. Hooray for the finish!
