Teddy

One of my daughters' college roommates is due to have her
first baby any time now.
She's having a boy and the nursery theme is the National Parks.

Plus, his name will be Theodore.

I found the PERFECT quilt pattern for this baby!

These guys were so much fun to make!
I had a cutting session
and then sewed them all at once,
so they were finished all at once!

I was very thankful that I didn't make any mistakes cutting
the pieces, because that could have messed up
every single bear.

This pattern is an Elizabeth Hartman pattern...
the second pattern of hers that I've made.
Glasses will be added to one of these guys
and then the top will be finished.

But look at what I found for the backing!!

This is the parents favorite park!
The panel will need to be trimmed, pressed and added to,
but it will make a great backing.

This quilt will be finished soon and given to
Teddy after he is born.
:)

Happy Quilting!

  4. I was just perusing the designers website, her patterns are amazing. You need to make the glassses to look like teddy Roosevelt’s glasses with the national parks theme

  8. I love the bears! They were fun to add to the twins quilts I made last year and I would love to make a whole quilt of bears... someday... The panel for the backing is great. I also love your other projects, the dragonflies and I love the name Julie, and the patriotic tablerunners. It is always fun to see what you make!

  9. I love this so much! Teddies for Teddy, how perfect. I have done several EH patterns, they’re always adorable but I’ve found that I need to concentrate and pay strict attention or things can get turned around in a hurry; not projects for retreat settings (at least for me) where chatting and distractions abound! I just bought the National Parks panel that has all the parks on it, post card style. I’m planning to quilt it onto a flannel back for my husband. (I had quilted one for a friend and he fell in love with it!) He’ll be so surprised.
