Blooming Butterflies Finished

I never thought I would be posting about this quilt being finished so soon.
There is a lot going on with my family and some very close friends,
and I've needed to escape to my Hidey Hole to recharge,
so I've had some very concentrated sewing time.

This quilt, Blooming Butterflies,
went together much more quickly than I anticipated
and I love the finish.

This will be given to my niece at her Drive Through Baby Shower tomorrow.

This was a kit from Shabby Fabrics and as soon as I saw it,
I knew I would be making this for this particular niece.

One reason for it going together so quickly and easily is because
the pieces were laser cut and had the fusible on them already.

I followed the pattern placement exactly because I liked it so much.

The fabrics in this kit are so fun and cheerful.
It will be such a sweet baby quilt
for my grand niece.

The backing is such a fun fabric, too, and looks like it's in motion.

I'm sad to see this one go, but know that my niece will love it.
I'll have to make sure my sister doesn't take it from her, though!

Happy Quilting!

  8. Ramona, your Blooming Butterflies is such a beautiful finish. How colourful and joyous this quilt is. A drive through baby shower....it will be sad to miss all the happiness and fun associated with a 'normal' baby shower but that will all be forgotten when your niece sees her lovely quilt.

  12. Oh, Ramona...the quilt is breathtaking. What a beautiful rainbow of butterflies and the backing is perfect. Your niece will love it I'm sure. This is the kind of quilt that becomes a family heirloom. (I'd get started on one for your sister, though...lol)

  13. What a fabulous baby quilt, Ramona! I can just imagine your little grandniece's fingers playing with the prairie points and counting the butterflies, naming the colors... Sending you a big virtual HUG over the Internet for whatever is going on with loved ones that is weighing you down. I'm glad you have your hidey-hole to refresh your spirit!
