Escher Rows Finished

I've been in a bit of a sewing funk for the past week or so.
Part of it is because things have been busier here lately.
Part of it may be that I just need a break for a bit,
but I think the biggest reason is because of this mess with Blogger.

When I received the message from someone telling me to quit
sending naked photos and ads for other "things"...
it made me sick.

I can't believe there isn't a way for us to block followers on Bloglovin'.
I have researched it and can't find a way to do this.
Plus, there is no way to communicate with Blogger about this, either.
I've disabled the Follow on Bloglovin' box on my blog.
If this doesn't stop, I may have to stop blogging.
I do not want to be a part of this in any way.
Sorry for my rant, but this makes me really angry and sad.

So...
In order to bring a little sunshine and happiness into my quilting life,
I've finished all of the rows on my latest Escher quilt.

It amazes me that someone was able to design this quilt
and make it look like it's three dimensional.

I feel like I could just climb in and out of these cubes and
even take a seat on one.

It took me quite a while to sew the rows together
because each block had to be facing a certain way
and be in a certain order for the design to come together.

And you know these fabrics make me happy!!

Now I will get the rows sewn together and send it off to my LAQ.

Happy Quilting!

  1. I have been plagued by those disgusting comments too. I didn't think to disable follow but i will try that...Mine come from "Unknown"...so they evidently are not considered anonymous which i don't allow...it is so upsetting and maddening...

  2. is there some way to make it so all of your comments have to be approved by you - that is how I do it on Word Press and do you have some kind of spam filter? I don't know how Blogloving works I don't have it or Blogger
I love that quilt - do you have a link to the pattern? I might have saved it at one time but I'm not sure

  3. I'm so very sorry you're having this problem. It's inexcusable that anyone should act like that. Have you thought about changing platforms..maybe to WordPress? On a happier note...Quilt-agious has shipped my Escher kit....they should send you a gift!!! Hope this bloggy mess doesn't keep you down. You would be sorely missed in the blogging world. Blessings and a big virtual hug!

  4. I'd really hate to see you terminate your blog and I'm sure I'm not alone! I look forward to seeing what new projects you've pulled from that magic never-ending cabinet of yours! You do beautiful work and you've been my inspiration for finishing quilts I've started. You've been a great influence and thanks to you I've been churning out quilt tops like mad during the quarantine.

Unfortunately these days people hijack everything electronic, even email, so unless you become a social recluse, you run the risk. Howrver, just like crime -- you can't let others take your life and enjoyment away. Otherwise, life isn't worth living. Right?

Sorry you've been plagued by this disgusting stuff. Block, change, so whatever you gotta do. But don't let it get you down. This too shall pass.

Keep up the great work! after seeing yours, I'm buying the Escher quilt with kaffee fabrics myself!

  5. So far all I've had are questionable (I use that term lightly) comments on really old posts, all since the Blogger changes. When someone says they know my password (no longer valid) it's scary enough to quite all social media.

  6. Wow don't stop blogging! There must be a way to block trolls.
I just love your quilt, so happy and full of movement. This one must take so much concentration and organization.

  7. Bloglovin' has some icky, sketchy connections -- lots of .ru domains. I've tried contacting through their "help" page but they are faceless. If anyone finds a blogroll platform that's better (and less spam-prone), I'm sure we'd all be more appreciative!.........But, OH, WOW! Your Escher quilt is spectacular! I think that keeping all the parts in the right order as you assemble them would be the hardest part. Bravo!

  10. Wow...so sorry to hear about this issue with blogger. I have wondered about changing venues but a free way to post is hard to pass up. Hope you find a way to avoid this vulgar posting issue.

  12. Your quilt looks fabulous. I love the depth in it. Please don’t give up on blogging. Is there a way to do comment moderation on Bloglovin? You can on blogger. Some of the comments lately have been just horrid. Having moderation, I can delete them before they are published. I’d hate to see you leave us. I so enjoy your blog.

  13. First and foremost, your Escher quilt is -- breathtaking! Stunning! Amazing! I feel blessed when I get to see your work and read about your process on this blog, the same way I feel blessed when I stand in front of a magnificent painting or a sculpture in a museum. Especially today, when so many of us are physically cut off and isolated from other human beings, having our blogs as a way to connect with one another to encourage and inspire is such a gift.

I am not certain that the upsetting comments/emails you're reading are true, if they are really originating where you think they're coming from, or what exactly is behind them, but I know who is ULTIMATELY behind them, and so do you. It's the guy who says "Oh crap, she's up!" every morning when your feet hit the floor, and you're not going to let him shut down the light that you shine into the world. Ramona, my blog is on the same Blogger platform that yours is, and although I see commercial spam comments regularly (like "Great blog post, Visit my site at (link) for great prices on garage door repair"), I am not getting anything like what you're describing. I would love to help you figure out where this is coming from and how to put an end to it. If you still have copies of any of these comments or emails that are upsetting you -- or if you just want to wait until the next one comes through -- please take a screen shot of the offensive message(s) and email them to me directly. Are they coming to you directly in an email, as comments awaiting moderation before posting to your blog, or from this third party Bloglovin site? I'm sending you a great big hug in the meantime! We love you, Ramona!!
