We found out about a month ago that my daughter and SIL
are having a baby!
This will be our first grandchild and we are so excited.
They are due January 1st!
When I found out about them being pregnant,
I started knitting a little sweater and pair of booties.
They made the trip to California when we went recently
and have been delivered.
We do not know the gender of the baby yet,
so I thought this color yarn would work for either.
Now, my daughter and SIL do not like "things".
They have very few "tchotchke's" in their home
and do not like clutter.
I promised them that I would not be buying a lot of things
for this baby and would abide by their wishes.
After I gave them this set,
my dear SIL said to me,
"I'm on to you! You said you wouldn't BUY much
for this baby, but you didn't say a word about what you would
MAKE for this baby!"
BUSTED!!
:D :D
After we heard the exciting news,
I told my husband that this will mean monthly
trips to California beginning in January!
God is good!!
monthly trips? lol that will be a lot of travel and expense lol I wish I didn't have so much clutter in my house and would like to get rid of a lot of it but hubby never wants to get rid of anything.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How exciting for you all. They will learn that babies attract "stuff", but that's OK.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So funny...yes...I'm sure you will be making lots of wonderful stuff! My quilty friends told me I needed to make a quilt for every holiday for my grandbaby....I'm not even close!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! They have no idea how much stuff babies require such fun to knit those little things.....and then the quilts and soft toys,
ReplyDeleteSuch fun
Congratulations....I am SOOOOOOO happy for you! There's nothing like a grandchild...especially the first one ( and the second, and the third and the fourth...and the....)! I only have four and would love four more at the least but will probably only have these four. Our children are so special and so loved but God gave us grandchildren and they are totally different---just as special but in a different way. I will keep both your daughter and SIL in my prayers. It sounds as though you have travel plans well in hand!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! We're expecting our first grandchild in early December - yahoo! However we have not figured out how to quarantine ourselves prior to visiting so we don't unknowingly spread the virus to the new parents. Such a helpless feeling. We have a two-day drive to get there. Hopefully, something will improve before then! We just have to see our new granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteGeesh you are fast girl, a sweater and booties already, well you probably started the minute they told you the fantastic news!! Yikes monthly trips, I understand but you'll be worn out with the travel:0
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little set! Congratulations on the latest addition to your family........a baby to spoil is always awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow could anyone refuse such a beautiful sweater set? I have a feeling it will be put to good use. I’m so thrilled for all of you. It’s the best role in the world!
