A friends daughter had a baby in July
and Quinn's quilt is finally finished!
The baby's room is in pinks and gray
and I decided this time to make a
quilt that would cooridnate with the room.
This pattern was on Pintrest a while ago
and the heart in the design caught my eye.
For the backing I decided to use this gray
velour blanket I've had for some time to use as a backing.
NEVER AGAIN will I use a blanket like this!
It was a BEAR to quilt!
I wanted to do some feathers,
but there was no way that was going to happen.
Swirls it was.
It isn't as bunchy as it looks in the photo...just puffy.
The quilt is super soft and cuddly with this backing, though.
It's ready for delivery!
I'm linking to Design Wall Monday.
Happy Quilting!
Such a sweet quilt! Quinn’s mom will be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be a hit, kids love the fuzzy blankets so much.
ReplyDeleteI love this! The heart in there is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors the heart pops out like a little surprise. the quilt will be loved
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful baby quilt! I love the pink and grey combo. You are much braver than I to use the velour blanket as a backing---I've never even used Minkee although I've read it's not hard to quilt through. Well done, Ramona. It's good to have some free time again to read my FAVORITE blogs! Yours is at the top of the list! Blessings from a very dry and brown WV.
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect to me. That minky will surely make it a favourite quilt to snuggle.

It's adorable! LOVE the heart, but as I was reading you used velour I said out loud oh oh. I would imagine it slid and bunched as you tried to quilt.
ReplyDeleteI used minkee on a baby quilt and had no problems whatsoever. My advice is to spray baste it! And pat it down so it's really adhered.
