Last week I was playing in my Hidey Hole
and could not settle on working on one thing.
I found myself jumping from thing to thing to thing.
I finally stopped and looked around me
and realized that I had a LOT quilts
"In the Works"....
Too many.
Something had to happen.
Some of these quilts needed to be finished and out of my room.
Several quilts needed to be quilted and bound,
so this is where I started.
The Vintage Chenille baby quilt is finished!
It is pouring outside, so very dark and dreary today.
This photo shows the colors of the various
vintage chenille squares the best.
I bought the precut squares at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show
from a vendor who had the most beautiful baby clothes made from chenille,
antique doilies and embroidered table runners.
Two packs of precut squares made this little quilt.
I backed with a sweet little rosebud print,
cotton batting was used
and it was stitched in the ditch.
This was more difficult to make then I anticipated.
Sewing over the "chenille" parts was a pain
and stitching in the ditch took some effort as well.
It is finished
and ready to be gifted to the next baby girl born in the family.
Woohoo!
One quilt is out of my room.

In addition to finishing the baby quilt,
one of the neon socks is finished.
I am VERY disappointed....
These don't glow in the dark!
:D
I'm linking to Whoop Whoop and Patchwork Times today.
Happy Friday!
lol.....can you imagine if they did glow? Too fun! They must have yarn that does as they have thread that does.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that quilt. I want to snuggle up under it as I imagine it feels incredibly soft.
Love the quilt it looks so cozy and love the socks they are bright
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Hi Ramona...it's dark, dreary and chilly here today as well. I did get a bit of sewing done of the 2017 Little Quilt Swap, though. The chenille quilt is so darling---I hope you have a new baby girl in the family soon and the socks are so cute...just like your sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt. It will be loved. I have the same issue - too many quilts in progress. I just finished up 4 UFOs but also started a couple of new projects. Shame on ME!
ReplyDeleteYour chenille quilt is so sweet and a new baby girl will love it. Your socks are dynomite! They really do look like they glow in the dark. At least you can't lose them in your sock drawer. lol
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking alike this week. I too couldn't settle very well this week or last. Starting way too many things and didn't finish anything. Well I am still at it. However, I did start and finish piecing a wall hanging yesterday. Next week I have to do better with the finishing.
ReplyDeleteSo congrats to you for getting one off your list.
