...Five to go!
The annual Red, White and Blue table runners for my family are coming along.
I think this one is my favorite one yet.
(You can see the other table toppers/runners I've made here.)
I found some great patriotic fabrics this year
and love this border fabric.
And look!!
Can you see??
Feathers!! For the public to see!
They are far from perfect, but they are better.
I didn't have to hide them this time.
:D
This binding fabric is so fun, too.
I do have a confession to make and I hope I don't get kicked
out of the club.
I do not like using the Wonder Clips.
They don't stay in place for me,
I have to pull them out before I want to as I'm sewing
and then the fabric moves.
I'll stick to pins.
For those of you who read my blog regularly,
you might remember that I said I was going to finish one Bucilla kit
per month.
May came and went without a finish, but I had made four already this year.
I pulled out a teapot ornament kit for June and started making the ornaments.
Well,
I finished two and that is all I'm making.
They are as cute as can be,
but WOW is there a lot of fussy work with these.
Each one has so much embroidery and it's tiny.
I'm not that into embroidery, so the others will not be made at this time.
Onto the next kit!
Happy Quilting!!
They're cute, but I can see why you don't want to make more. Each runner is my favorite, until you make another! I have that border fabrics, except it's brights on white. Just waiting for a special project to use it.
ReplyDeleteCute ornaments, but wow! I haven't made a lot of progress on my stocking but will get back to it! I love your tablerunners, your quilting is great! Funny, when doing binding by hand I don't like the clips or pins. I just fold and stitch. With the machine I use pins.
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great projects going on, but I especially like the patriotic table runner - great design
ReplyDeleteVery cute table runner and the star fabric in the border is really striking. I do like the wonder clips but I definitely think everyone needs to use the techniques that work best for them. No quilt police allowed. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose DO have a ton of embroidery! They are awfully cute. The feather quilting looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove the table runner! Such great fabrics in there. Good job on the feathers! I am working on figuring those out as well.
