Pink is not my favorite color.
It's not even in my top five of favorite colors.
In fact, it may be near the bottom of the list of colors for me,
right above Purple.
BUT...
my niece LOVES pink
And Pink and Black Zebra prints rock for her.
So,
Making this quilt for her is a labor of love.
I did enjoy the process of making these blocks, though.
Once the individual blocks were made,
there was very little fussing involved.
It was just some mindless sewing...
Just what I needed!
Now I need to decide on the borders.
I'm thinking of keeping things simple
since this quilt is so wild already.
Look what I have....
Binding all ready for a quilt I am picking up tomorrow from my LAQ!!
I can't wait...Binding a quilt is one of my Favorite things to do.

Your niece will be thrilled with her quilt! It is very fun! Love your binding! This must have been the week for mindless sewing. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the stick you have your binding on? What a nice way to keep binding.
Hi Meloney, you are a "No Reply Blogger" so I can't send you an answer to your question. (Google "No Reply Blogger" to see how you can change your status.) I have my binding on an antique spool. I put it on the floor next to my presser foot and the binding just rolls off of it while I am stitching it in place. Rolling it onto the spool keeps it neat and it doesn't get wrinkled.
DeleteThat is a lovely quilt for your niece.
ReplyDeleteMy least favourite part of making a quilt is piecing the back. I'm not too fond of putting borders on big quilts. I do like doing the binding. I love finishing the binding by hand, yes it's slow but I love it.
Helen
love the binding fabric! your piecing is so perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know Ramona, if you had shown me the fabrics straight up, I would have passed. But this is a seriously cool quilt! You found the perfect block to show off the fabrics in a way that doesn't overwhelm.
ReplyDeleteYou have begun to rub off on me and I have started liking the binding stage too, LOL.
I love pink - and that is a great quilt!!!! Love the binding ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job in toning down the wild print while celebrating it at the same time!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous quilt. And I am a major fan of hot pink and zebra! What is the name of the pattern? Is it available in a book?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Nancy
Your niece is really, really going to love this quilt and that binding.....perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a teen quilt! I too put pink and purple at the bottom, but it is a wonderfully fun quilt for a pink lover.
ReplyDeletePurple is like my favorite color!! Your neice will adore this quilt-I think it is rather cute :-) Is that an XBlock pattern?
