Last fall the History Quilt Club
I belong to worked on a fun
Round Robin project.
We were to make a block from the book
Away From Home by Nancy and Oliver Rink.
Once our block was made,
we traded our block with another and were to add a border to the new block.
This happened for three months,
with each person adding a new border.
We did not see our block again until the end and it was
so much fun to see what the others had added to each block.
I had never participated in a Round Robin before
and had a lot of fun with this.
This session we were to finish these Round Robin quilts
and have them ready for the quilt show in May
at Millstone Quilts.
This past weekend I added the binding and label to mine and
it is finished!
The center block was made by me,
the first border by Beth C.,
the second border by Elaine K,.
and the last border by Bonnie Q.
I machine quilted it and added the border.
I would participate in another Round Robin in a minute.
I do have another start today....
an Anniversary gift for my husband.
It will be our 29th at the end of this month. :)
Here is what I have so far...
This is the background for the quilt.
LOVE the sky fabric!
These pieces are ready to be cut and prepped for
Applique.
I hope I can get it finished by the end of the month!
Visit Patchwork Times to see what others are creating.
Happy Quilting!
You are lucky that you have round robin participants that a) you trust to do good work, and b) will actually finish their part. I've been intrigued by the concept but have heard lots of war stories about robins gone awry. Yours looks great! Love the spool border.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! I showed mine at CPQG. Can't wait to see everyone's in May.
