My design wall has not changed at all
since my sewing machine is still in the shop.
(It will be two weeks tomorrow!)
(patiently waiting to be sewn together)
However,
my hands have not been idle.
Last year I found this pattern full of these
WONDERFUL Santas.
I have always admired Sue Garman's work and
have wanted to make one of her quilts for a long time.
After receiving the pattern, which I'm not sure is still available,
I decided to make the
Santas from wool.
I began collecting wool and started working on them
the last couple of weeks.
They are so much fun to make!!
Here are the blocks I have finished:
Swiety Nicotaj, the Star Man
The Wassail Santa
The Russian St. Nicholas
The Danish Julenisse
(He's my favorite so far!)
This Santa is prepped and ready to finish:
The Swiss Samichlaus
There are 12 Santas in the pattern,
along with other blocks,
but I am going to make just the Santas.
I sure hope my sewing machine returns soon,
but I am having fun working on these guys.
Visit Patchwork Times to see what others are creating.
Happy Quilting!
Those Santas are so cute! I know what you mean about the sewing machine being gone so long. Last year mine was in the shop for about 3 weeks. Hope it's back soon!

Wonderful Santas, great call on making them out of wool. That's going to be a fabulous quilt!

ReplyDeleteGreat Santas. They look so good in the wool. How frustrating to have a machine at the spa.
