I have mentioned before that I belong to a
History of Quilting group that meets monthly.
This is one great group of women!
The talent in the room is amazing
and we have a great time at our meetings.
A few sessions ago we were given a challenge to find inspiration
in an antique quilt and create something from that inspiration.
This was my creation for the challenge.
Our wonderful leader, Linda, was inspired by my quilt
and asked if she could use my design to create something of her own.
"Of Course!!"
Well, yesterday her quilt came back from her Long Arm Quilter
at our monthly meeting
and it is gorgeous!
Isn't this wonderful??
(I apologize for the blurry photo... )
I love the colors Linda used and the different Dresdens.
The quilting is so much fun, too....perfect for this quilt.
Each month I get so excited when it's History Club Saturday.
Talk about inspiring!!
Keep those creative juices flowing!!
Happy Quilting!
The colors are great in both quilts, but what really caught my eye was the mixture of Dresden styles. Wow! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm a member of AQSG and bet I know some of the gals in your history group. Love your quilt and the "knock off" as well. I'll be teaching a Dresden variation at Spring Training Camp next year and would like permission to show a picture of your quilt as inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful group this sounds like! I love your version, it's just stunning. However the other one is also beautiful and they are such wonderful interpretations of a traditional block. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love - love - love your KF Dresdens! So pretty. The colors really pop!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your quilt. They are more in my favorite palette of colors. I'm thrilled that you inspired your friend to a great quilt, too.
