Cute little find...

The bears I made.  :)
But....
The chair I found at a
consignment store!

Hand painted
AND
with a woven, quilted seat.

How cute is that?
Now my bears have a comfy
place to sit.

Making progress....

...on my little
Independence Day Quilts!
I have several to make.
Won't they make nice gifts?
A little splash of
Red, White and Blue color!!

I'm thinking of using the flag fabric for binding.

Rosebud, don't look!

The Swimming T-shirt quilt top

Brought back memories of
... races and ribbons

I need to find a better way to photograph
large quilts!

Getting there...

One bag of scraps has been
cut down into usable
strips and squares.

The ideas for new quilts
are
flying around in my head!

Two more bags to go!

A look back...

Last summer a good friend was
diagnosed with cancer.
What does a quilter do?
Makes him a quilt.
This was made with
Philip Jacobs "Shell Montage"
in a four square stack-n-whack....
I loved all of the
kaleidoscope blocks!

Little table toppers

A Visit to one of my firsts....

Quilts that is...
I visited my daughter
and she has one of the first
bed-sized quilts I made.

It's mostly batiks....
And was QUITE a challenge for me!
I had to work some magic....
The blocks weren't always the size they
were supposed to be.

:)

This is a baby quilt that I donated.
It was fun to make.

I hope it doesn't keep Baby awake!

Philippine Island Quilt

One of my sisters-in-law is from the
Philippine Islands.
My brother asked me to make a quilt
of the Islands for her.
I enjoyed the challenge and she
loved the finished quilt.

And..... no... I did not put all
7,000+ islands on the quilt!
:)

Another completion

My quilt group is a
History of Quilting group.
It has stretched me to use a
color palate I was not drawn to.
I like Bright...Colorful!

But.... the reproductions are growing on me.  :)

I picked up four quilts from my awesome machine quilter recently.
All completed!

Progress and Socks!!

t-shirt quilt!

Another thing I love to do is knit socks.
Taught myself last fall with help from
You Tube!!
Nice portable project to do when
away from home.

A few pair of socks completed.

Turkish Bed socks

A pair of basic socks.  So warm!

The pattern for the Turkish Bed Socks can be found here.

T-shirt Quilt

My youngest daughter swam competitively for years.
Therefore.... lots of t-shirts.
And, of course this means....
a t-shirt quilt!

Bringing back a lot of memories.

Another recent finish... Bargello in the Round

I took a class at one of my LQS's
and LOVED making these
Bargello in the Round quilts.
From Cheryl Phillips' book
Quilts Without Borders.
Made with Kaffe Fassett fabric
..... my FAVORITE!!
In making this quilt, the "original" quilt is made
with the first cutting of wedges.
The scraps are sewn back together and a
"bonus" quilt can be made.
This quilt is the "original" quilt from the pattern.

This is the "bonus" quilt made from the scraps after cutting the wedges for the original.

The "original" quilt pieces are wider.

I like the "Bonus" quilt more.. smaller pieces so more movement in the piece.
